Christina Boufali-Bavella
Short Biography
Christina Boufali-Bavella began her studies in 2004 at the Department of Psychology of Panteion University. After completing her first degree, she joined Gignesthai, the Hellenic Association for Existential Psychology, where she trained for four years as an existential psychotherapist. Alongside her training, she worked as a psychologist for the Network for Children’s Rights, mainly with children and adolescents from migrant backgrounds; at Leximatheia, a Model Center for Learning and Speech; at the Mental Health Center of the Municipality of Papagou (ΕΠΙΨΥ); and for the street magazine Shedia, providing mental health support to its vendors. In 2016, she was admitted to the Master’s Program at Panteion University in Positive Psychology, while also beginning to practice privately as a psychotherapist. Her private office is located in the center of Athens, ever since. In 2018, as a postgraduate student, she published her first academic paper on eudaimonia and its relation to physical health. She also writes articles for Epochi magazine and is a member of the editorial team representing Gignesthai there. She remains a member of Gignesthai’s research group, with a particular interest in existential philosophy, and has participated with the group in two existential psychology conferences. Since 2019, she has been part of Gignesthai’s educational faculty as an existential trainer. She is a certified psychotherapist by the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and a member of Federation for Existential Therapy in Europe (FETE).
