Mirka Plessa

Short Biography

Mirka Plessa is a Psychologist, MSc and Existential Psychotherapist, ECP. She graduated from Panteion University of Athens and holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Leiden University, the Netherlands. She was trained as an Existential Psychotherapist at the four-year program of the Hellenic Association for Existential Psychology, “Gignesthai”, where she currently works as a trainer and supervisor. She is a certified psychotherapist by the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and works at private practice in Southern Athens, providing individual psychotherapy to adults and supervision to psychotherapists. In the past, she worked in both public and private health institutions as an external collaborator, including the Mental Health Centre of Vyronas-Kaisariani (part of the 1st Psychiatric Clinic of the University of Athens), conducting clinical interviews and psychotherapy to adults, the Athens General Hospital “Sotiria”, providing counselling services to patients with chronic lung diseases and participating in research projects and the Child Psychiatry Clinic of the University of Athens at “Agia Sofia” Children’s Hospital, contributing to research projects. She has also worked in private psycho-educational centres, providing psychotherapy to adolescents and children and counselling to parents. She is a member of the Association of Greek Psychologists and the Federation for Existential Therapy in Europe (FETE).
