Participating in the Program

Training in the Integrated Program in Existential Counseling and Psychotherapy takes place at the Gignesthai facilities in Marousi, located at 33 Herodotou Street, right next to the KAT station exit on Line 1 of the Athens Metro.

Although, as noted below, there is the possibility for individuals living outside Athens or even outside Greece — or for those who may have permanent or temporary mobility issues — to attend the program online, we strongly encourage those who are able to make the effort to attend the sessions in person. Choosing the easier, more convenient option of online attendance is discouraged, as attending seminars and classes in person greatly contributes to group cohesion and significantly facilitates the conduct of experiential exercises.

Attending Online

Gignesthai offers the possibility for individuals who reside permanently outside of Athens, or possibly in another country (as long as, for practical reasons, there is not a significant time difference with Greece), or who are unable to attend in person due to a disability (although our facilities are fully equipped for people with mobility impairments), to participate in the Integrated Program in Existential Counseling and Psychotherapy entirely online. Participants choosing this mode actively engage in all two-day seminars, plenaries, and skills study groups during their academic year, including the experiential exercises often included in these sessions, via live connection on the Zoom platform. The only exception to online participation is the three-day experiential seminar held each academic year, which requires the in-person attendance of all program participants. This experiential seminar usually takes place in the spring, and the exact date is announced at the start of the academic year along with all other scheduled dates listed on this page.

Online participation in the program must be discussed and agreed upon with the administration of Gignesthai at the beginning of the academic year for those intending to join online. It can, of course, be modified to in-person attendance — or vice versa, if availability allows — through timely written coordination with the supervisors of the respective academic year.
